To provide exceptional leadership and direction in the management of the VSG Events team; this is responsible for supporting and managing all of the part time events staff employed by VSG.applicants
To provide clear and timely communication to all within the team on key issues that affect the events business operation and customer service delivery.
Ensure that the interests of VSG's clients, their Guests and visitors are fully protected at all times and conduct yourself accordingly. The senior operations manager will be responsible for ensuring all events staff are notified of available work opportunities and deputise for the Operations Director - Events in their absence.
Job Overview:
Responsible for the live operation of the Events Security Team that manages the essential funtions of:
Event Manning and Operations
Emergency and evacuation procedures for events
Management of the part time Events Management and Supervisory team
Health safety and welfare of all events staff
Business Continuity Planning centered on the continued operation of VSG events
Leadership and direction of all security staff employed within the events team to ensure all isues are dealt with accordingly
Provide timely and effective communication to all withn the VSG Events management team and VSG Operations Director - Events on:
Incidents that occur on or effect VSG Events that are taking place
Ensure all information required to be input in event safety information is managed correctly
Serious incident tracking and management
Absence and lateness reporting
Officer conduct
Skills and knowledge:
Relevant Events industry experience at a senior management level is essential
Hold SIA Close Protection or Door Supervisor Licence
Knowledge of working within a fast paced events environment is essential for this role
A foundation degree in Crowd Management/NVQ Level 4 in Spectator Safety is highly desirable
Has proven ability to contribute toward a large events team operation and can work on their own initiative
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly at all levels within the organisation
A comprehensive working knowledge of implementing and managing processes and procedures
A skillful negotiator who is capable of resolving staff issues
A decisive and assertive decision maker who can interpret situation to proceed with a prioritised action plan that achieves the results required
Excellent report writing and analytical skills with attention to detail
Core Competencies:
Excellent analytical skills to critically evaluate the information gathered and prioritise activity and on going communication
Significant experience of managing people and challenging situations
Experience of working in a Counter Terrorism environment and close working links with the Police, and Security Services on large scale high risk events is desirable
Excellent oral communicator and proven ability in presenting information at a senior level
Strong written skills for reports, incidents and presentations
Commercial awareness and management of a large events budget
Experience of Business Development and the writing of events tenders is essential
